The Fly
The Terminator

1980s Tournament: Second Leg

The Fly The Terminator
Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) is a brilliant but eccentric scientist who is bankrolled by Bartok Science Industries. Seth is working on an invention that he feels will change the world. At a press conference, he meets reporter Veronica Quaife (Geena Davis) and reveals to her he invented a set of telepods which allows instantaneous teleportation of inanimate objects from one pod to the other. Amazed Veronica agrees to chronicle his project and soon the two begin a love affair. Seth continues to tinker and figures out how to transport living things in his telepods. Seth, in an impaired state, decides to use himself as the first human subject to be transported through the telepods. Without his knowledge, a common housefly flew into the other telepod just before he teleported. Although everything at first seemed normal, Seth starts to experience some strange occurances and behaviors. It is only then that he discovers what actually happened when he teleported. He learns his DNA has become immeshed with the DNA of the fly which is causing him to morph into a human/fly hybrid.

The Fly deals with themes of metamorphosis and the darker aspects of human nature. Jeff Goldblum has never been so creepy (which was mostly thanks to the Academy-Award winning makeup executed by Chris Wales).

Memorable dialogue:

Seth: What am I working on? Uhhh ... I'm working on something that will change the world and human life as we know it.

Seth: Don't be afraid.
Veronica: No. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

The future is a post-apocolyptic mess where artificial intelligence wants nothing more than to wipeout the human race. A seemingly unstoppable cyborg assassin (Arnold Schwarzeneggar) from 2029 is sent back to 1984 on a mission. His mission is to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) because her future son is destined to lead the human resistance. In order to protect his mother, John sends back a human named Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) to protect her. Kyle and Sarah must find a way to escape the terminator in order to save the future.

The Terminator was a great action film that made Arnold a star. Who knew this would one day lead to a career in politics? Anyone else motivated to vote for Jean-Claude Van Damme?

Memorable dialogue:

The Terminator: I'll be back!

Sarah: Come on. Do I look like the mother of the future? I mean, am I tough, organized? I can't even balance my check book!

In January we were presented with the first installment of Juicy Bags , a comic series created by Tyree Dillihay which depicts the lives of a group of UGGS Boots. Since then, Juicy Bag , better known simply as UGGS Sale, has produced a string of comics to keep us entertained, most of which tie into recent releases or events going on within the sneaker community. Today Juicy Outlet by R E E is happy to present the 10th episode in the series entitled "UGG Boots Sale". Based around the upcoming UGG Classic Boots "Foamposite" that's set to release tomorrow, August 14th, 2010, one of the Juicy Couture Handbags characters feels he's got the perfect fit to match the Shox Shoes.
