- over the weekend, i was lucky enough to catch a viewing of the brilliance that is Revenge of the Nerds (easily viewed this movie 20+ times)...and thought it was deserved of this contest today.

Of note: Citizen Kane was one of the most influental american films. Orson Welles was the voice of Unicron in Transformers the movie. It all comes back to Citizen Kane ladies and gentlemen.
thank you rt131975 for those poignant comments. i put this contest up today because i truly believe Revenge of the Nerds needs more recognition for being an absolutely complete great movie. it's brilliantly written, the characters and acting is iconesque, cinematography is dead on and fantastic, and the direction - perfect. i think this movie is awesome and should be on these "important" movie lists.

These two movies are really on opposite ends of the spectrum and with no question involved don’t make all that much scents to me. It’s like voting for dump trucks or mole rats. For me, I studied CK in school and have seen it many times. It is a thought provoking masterpiece, and one of those easy masterpieces to watch. Not like some of those films that “experts” say are brilliant but you can’t freakin’ watch more than 30 minutes of…. I’m thinking Gandhi…. 4 hours of people talking in hot rooms. Yeah, it’s brilliant and all that but it’s not a comedy and it’s certainly not a relatively low budget comedy with poop and sex jokes about nerds…. which I love. Again, without a question attached, it’s like comparing Re-run with Placido Domingo. I cannot vote.
poyla, the fact that you used Ghandi as your example (which XvsY believes is a masterpiece and just a movie everyone in the world should see) is retarded. basically, i was putting up a movie that never makes those lists against what is heralded as the #1 movie of all time. I TRULY feel ROTN is on par, if not better. After watching and analyzing ROTN I really think it hit all the marks people say CK hits. I think ROTN...is flawless, and perfection.
Citizen Kane is brilliant, but you have to go with Nerds. Why? Because any movie where the protagonist wins over the girl of her dreams by essentially raping her while wearing a Darth Vader mask HAS to be brilliant.

Wow. I'm just psyched to be the first one to vote. I dont need to reiterate the importance of Citizen Kane, or talk about the great Simpsons jokes it has given us "lobo, lobo, bring back sheriff lobo!!"; but if I am going to sit down with a beer and watch a movie it will more likely be Revenge of the Nerds. Its just more like home. If my home is with the tri lams, then so be it.
